  • Sponsor UMUTESI RUKEBESHA SAGE
    Umutesi is an orphan girl aged 13. Her father died from malaria when she was 2. Umutesi’s mother remarried to a displaced husband who fled the violence in the rural area. As soon as her mother got remarried, Umutesi went to live in a host family as her stepfather didn’t want her to stay with her. She is attending grade 6 Primary school. She is good at French and Maths and dreams to be a nurse.
    Sponsor AMINA MAHEMU
    Amina Mahemu is an orphan girl. Her father died when she was 4 years old. She was born in 2004 and has been under HOBC since 2015. Her family fled the rebel groups in the rural area and has been living in critical living conditions. She is in grade 3 Bio-Chemistry and next year she will sit for the national examination. She is so good at Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Her dream is to become a medical doctor. She is a good church singer.
    Sponsor Daniel BYIRINGIRO
    Daniel is an orphan boy, whose mother died on his birthday due to an unprofessional operation on June 19, 2022. His mother died a few hours after his birth, so he did not get a chance to be breastfeed. He is currently taken care by Hope Building Center.
    Sponsor ASHUZA BOJI
    Ashuza Boji is an orphan boy aged 19. His father and mother died when he was 3 years old. He spent 3 years with his poor grandmother who could not afford his tuition fees. Ashuza is living in a host family while attending grade 4 secondary school Pedagogy and will sit for the national examination in this year. He is always the first of the class. He wants to study medicine at university in order to save people’s life. He says that God brought him from the village to the town of Goma in order to bless him with school sponsorship from HOBC. He entered the HOBC program in 2015 and is the spiritual leader of all HOBC kids and teaches them God’s word.
    Sponsor BARAKA MUMBERE
    Baraka is an orphan boy aged 11. His father was killed in 2010 by the rebels and his mother dead of poison 3 years later. He has been under HOBC since 2016. He is in Primary 4 and lives in a host family.
    Sponsor BWENGE RUTEBUKA
    Bwenge Rutebuka is an orphan boy aged 15. His father died in 2006 and his mother in 2015. He entered the HOBC program in 2015. He is studying in grade 2 mechanics in secondary school. He is one of the bright students in his class. His dream is to repair trucks and make a lot of money to help the poor.
    Sponsor GISUBIZO AYOBANGIRA
    Gisubizo Ayobangira is a 16 years old vulnerable boy whose parents divorced when he was 2 and he went to live with his grandmother who did not manage to take him to school. At the age of 8, he got a chance to start school when his uncle brought him to Goma town, but the uncle failed to continue paying his tuition fees after one year. While doing house work, Pastor Jean came into contact with this boy in 2015 when he was visiting his sponsored child in the nearby house. Since then, Gisubizo entered the HOBC program. He is in grade 1 Construction at secondary school. He says that he will be a civil engineer and save his family from poverty
    Sponsor TUMAINI NSENGIYUMVA
    Tumaini Nsengiyumva is an 18 years old vulnerable girl whose parents divorced and remarried again. She used to live with her father, but when her father got remarried, HOBC found her a host family where she has been living for two years. She is in grade 2 Bio-Chemistry and she is always the first of her class. Her dream is to be a medical doctor and save people’s live. She has been under Hope Building Center since 2017.
